Professional Background
After graduating from Morehead State University, James started his career in industry at an auto parts manufacturing firm in Lucasville Ohio. From the time James started by reconciling bank accounts for an auto manufacturer to the time he decided to leave for public accounting James had risen to the position of regional controller for a multinational, billion dollar corporation.
In 2010, while living near Los Angeles, California James decided to move back to the farm in which he was raised with his wife Alicia to pursue a career in public accounting. James' intention was to provide the same support and insights to small and medium sized businesses that he had previously reserved for his billion dollar employer.
After the experience of co-founding and operating J H Johnson & Associates, James joined with Trainer, Wright, & Paterno to form TW&P Consulting on January 1, 2016.
In his current role, James is in charge of business development firm wide, engagement management for the consulting division, and engagement performance for the consulting division.

Personal Background
James grew up on his family's 100 acre farm in Greenup Kentucky where he attended Greenup County High School. His mother was a school teacher and his father was a steel worker. Growing up on a farm taught him the importance of hard work, patience, and it's okay to get his hands dirty every once in a while.
After graduation, James attended Morehead State University where he earned his Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Shortly after taking his first job as a staff accountant at an auto parts manufacturer, James returned to Morehead State University part time to earn his Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Finance.
After earning his MBA and passing the CPA exam, James worked in cost accounting, controllership, and financial planning & analysis roles for a large plastics manufacturer before returning home to build a home and a life on his family's farm.
James enjoys farming hay and tending the family garden with his wife Alicia and two kids Maddie and Elliot. James puts Christ first in everything he does and is a Deacon at Danleyton Missionary Baptist Church. When he finds time, he enjoys traveling with his family, sailing, golf, and playing guitar at his church.
