Professional Background
After graduating from Bethany College and spending several years working in the legal industry, Todd joined TWP in 1998 as a staff accountant. He received his certification and license to be a certified public accountant (CPA) in 2001 and he became a certified valuation analyst (CVA) in 2003. Todd became a partner/member/owner in Trainer, Wright & Paterno in 2004 with the retirement of Donald E. Trainer, one of the original founders of the Firm.
Todd started his career with the Firm in the tax department and then later shifted to the audit department, wherein he assumed the responsibilities as audit leader upon the departure of the then audit leader. In addition to the audit leader role, Todd lead the firm’s advisory services, which included business valuation services, controllership services and litigation support services. During 2016, Todd relinquished his role as audit leader and the Firm developed a consulting division which is where Todd performs most of his client facing services now. Most customers that Todd has worked with are in either the Construction or Manufacturing, providing him with a deep understanding of both industries.
In 2016, Todd took the role of Visionary within the firm. As visionary, Todd is responsible for setting the Firm’s vision, developing new services and opportunities for the firm, maintaining customer relationships and providing for the strategic direction of the firm.

Personal Background
Todd grew up in a small town in the northern panhandle of West Virginia, where he attended Brooke High School and graduate in 1990. His mother was a bank teller in their small town and through her wonderful customer relations seemingly grew relationships with everyone in town. Todd contributes a lot of his relationship building skills to observing how his mother interacted with her customers. After graduation Todd attended Bethany College in Bethany, WV (just outside of his hometown), for the next 4 years graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Major in Accounting and Minor in Economics. Bethany is small private liberal arts school, whose tuition cost would have been too steep for his family’s middle class income, except for the fact that his father worked at the college in the building and grounds department which meant he could attend the school tuition free.
Upon graduating from Bethany, Todd moved to Elkins, West Virginia to begin work with a law firm. It is there that he met his wife Misty and shortly after their wedding they moved to Huntington, WV. Misty works in the healthcare industry as a nurse and they have two children, Alexis and Carter.
Todd takes great enjoyment in spending time with his family, both immediate and extended. One of his favorite times of year is the 4th of July when his family travels back to his hometown to celebrate the holiday with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles. He has also enjoyed dedicated his time by serving on several boards benefiting youth sports, including a 3-year term as President of Huntington Little League.
